Family-Friendly Activities at Queenscliff Beaches
A beach day is one of the simplest ways to enjoy Queenscliff with family or friends. Guests at Sagres have a private walking track to Nuns Beach, also known locally as Santa Casa Beach, so you can plan a short outing and return to the house for lunch or a rest.
Nuns Beach from Sagres
Start with an easy walk down to the sand and a look across Port Phillip Bay. Bring what you need for the length of your outing: water, sun protection, towels and an extra layer when the weather is cool. Direct beach access is part of the appeal of Sagres, but the natural track and the house’s stairs are worth considering when planning for your group.
Before swimming, check current conditions, beach signs and patrol arrangements. Patrols are seasonal and conditions change; do not assume a beach is supervised or suitable for swimming on the day. Keep children closely supervised around the water.
Easy ideas for a family beach outing
A short morning visit: bring sandcastle gear, collect ideas for a drawing or photograph the changing light over the bay. Keep the plan short enough that everyone enjoys it.

A coastal walk: choose a route that suits your group’s ability and the conditions. Check tides and access before walking along the shoreline, particularly if heading towards Point Lonsdale. Leave marine life and rock-pool habitats undisturbed.

A beach visit does not need to mean swimming. A winter walk followed by a warm drink at the house can be just as rewarding. Make Queenscliff your holiday base
